Posted On: Wednesday, May 5, 2010

Starting May 12th the State Park will be implementing a new procedure for entrance in to the park.  They will be starting a new program with cards that can be swiped at the entrance gate.  Per an e-mail received by the Park Superintendent, Paul Kisel: "Eisenhower State Park will be switching to a new computer system on Wed May 12th that will use a card swipe system for your park passes.  This will make the park entrance process faster for you once everyone gets used to the changes.  If you have questions or concerns, contact the Park Superintendent Paul Kisel at 903-465-1956 or by email at Paul.Kisel@tpwd.state.tx.usBoaters with the statewide park pass will get something in the mail from TPWD stating the new changes and will have to come into the park office for a new card at no charge that will be swipeable. Boaters with the specific marina pass will be ok until the pass expires then will get a new swipeable card upon their renewal. These folks will have to present the card and tell us how many people are in the car then they get waved through the gate.

Thank you to everyone who joined us over the weekend for the BBQ!  Our plans are to continue this every year.  I had quite a few people ask me about the recipe for corn casserole, so rather than e-mail each of you I decided to post it to the website:

1 family size frozen corn, thawed
1 stick of butter
1 8 oz pkg. cream cheese
1 small can of green chili's
Grated Cheese to cover top
Garlic Salt (to taste)

Melt the butter and mix with cream cheese.  Add in green chilis, garlic salt and corn.  Grease the bottom of an 8x8 baking dish and pour in mixture.  Top with grated cheese.  Set oven to 350 degrees and cook until cheese is bubbly.

Thanks, Maria

Water Update

Recent Article

Posted On: Wednesday, May 27, 2009

The water is receeding steadily at this point. Finally! Also, we are extending many of our walkways and allowing them to float. There are still some walkways that will be under water this weekend and the electricity will still be off in Boathouses 23-31 and Boathouse 6. It's a bit of a process to get it turned back on, but we'll let everyone know when it's back on.

Ignore The Media

Ignore the local media...they do not know what they are talking about. I have called them and they still report that we have no electricity. We have electricity except for Boathouses 6 & 23-31. Most of the walkways have water on them. I think you can still get through Boathouses 2, 5(barely), 16 (barely), 17(barely), 18, 22. We do have shuttles available if need be. Please be mindful of those that do the shuttling though and plan on staying the night at the slip if you don't want to be shuttled back by 8pm. The water is at 628.3 @ 9:15am 5/15/09. It is expected to crest 5/21/09 to 629.6. However, more rain is expected tomorrow so this will change. If you have any additional questions or concerns...give us a call!
